Frontline Wireless is a new voice in the wireless industry with a mission to offer first responders more spectrum for fully mobile broadband communications and free buildout of a nationwide, interoperable network over which public safety agencies would have control.
Frontline’s plan will also give wireless consumers new freedom in the devices and applications they can use on a 4G, IP-based network. To advance these market-based solutions for public safety broadband, Frontline is launching a bidding group for acquiring necessary spectrum in the upcoming commercial auction of the 700 MHz band.
Frontline’s founding team is comprised of veteran wireless industry and public policy leaders, including Haynes Griffin, founding CEO of Vanguard Cellular (later acquired by AT&T Wireless), Janice Obuchowski, former head of the National Telecommunications and Information Administration, and Reed Hundt, former Chairman of the Federal Communications Commission. Frontline is based in Greensboro, NC.
