On 11 May 2015, Adedoyin Adeyemi Adetayo received an SMS notification from Airtel requesting her to register for Airtel Insurance via *259#. As a result, she went to the Airtel shop in Ilupeju to find out more.
At the Ilupeju Airtel shop she met with a MicroEnsure Engagement Officer who gave her more information and enrolled her on the policy.
Adedoyin was at her shop on 13 July 2015 when she started feeling feverish, so visited the Doctor at Agege General Hospital, Orile Agege. At the hospital, she was diagnosed with chronic malaria and was immediately placed on admission. Following treatment, she was discharged on 17 July 2015.
After being discharged, she visited the Ilupeju Airtel shop to submit her documents for a claim request and on 25 August 2015, she received a call from MicroEnsure asking her to pick up her claims benefit cheque of twenty five thousand Naira (N25, 000).
Adedoyin intends to put the money she received back into her business, and she thanked all the partners that put together Airtel Insurance for making it happen.
